Any ideas what's happening in Bergen's?
Hi, I just got to wondering something and am wondering if anyone else has some ideas. Tonight I was in Bergen's for about 10 mins and there was literally a steady stream of monks spawning and zoning, was just like an ant trail... all solo. I'm wondering 2 things, 1) Are there a lot of bots there and 2) are they farming? for what? orr emblems? I am there every once in a while, more over the last few days and have noticed this the last couple times I was there... it's AD1.

afaik There's always been bots/people there. I usually stick to international districts, and I see a few here and there. Also they could be farming orr emblems. You get a lot of gold items, and bones too.

id say maybe 1/2 of all the monks were bots and were farming orr embs.
gets to a point when u farm there that spotting bots are so easy - specially when they get stuck and others that respawn and follow same exact path.It actually becomes a joke after a while - maybe anet shud have a staff member sit in bergen and pm each moving monk - if they dont answer then ban that account .Real players will answer a pm where bots just carry on an exit. joke - new gw addon that takes place in bergen - gw rise of the bots :P |

Although Bregen has been a hotspot for bots for a very long time
Anet just lets it continue as you can see by a recent statement that farming has a role to play. I myself dont find the need for farming as can obtain what I wish although it takes longer to achive it. If guys like it then they have an option to do so , nothing against them at all. If you really have a look around there many places bots run from and have been doing so............ |

Yeah, there's always people (and most likely bots) there. Good old orr emblems.

Also, in that area you can find the rare req8 golds with max damage that can be worth 100K + ectos.
Halloween is also another good reason. The Gold that a foe will drop is also not that bad considering the density of monsters in the area. |

OK, now this brings another question, why do people choose orr emblems? Are they so much easier to farm than other collectable trophies? For example, at Halloween you can trade 3 emblems for a Ghost in the box, Squash serum etc, so a 3-1 trade in, at the same time you can trade 1 Caromi scalp for the same items, 1-1 trade in and there are others that are 2-1. I used to farm a few emblems but it just seems silly to farm something I need 3X as many of when I can farm other things that will give me much more.

People/Bot's have been there for as long as i can remember!
It is a very easy area to farm with a 55/600 Setup Undead + Holy Damage = Orr Emblems + Loot It really is as simple as that! |

Yeah... total Bot city over there. Been like that for a very long time. Several of us have reported it and nothing ever gets done about it.
I go out there and perma (yes, bad word ) that area farming. Lots of good stuff out there that will make good money over the course of an afternoon. I'm not into UWSC or dungeons, so I get my perma kicks doing crafting materials/runes/ collector items/weapon/tome drops from that part of the country. |

I spend a lot of time farming undead in GoK HM. The DOEs are just part of it, since the farm also provides dust, bone, tomes (war, ranger, necro, and mesmer), lockpicks, cash, and a fair number of golds. 50-60 minutes will get me ~20-25 DOEs, a stack of bone, 5-8 golds, etc. After a couple of months of this, I have about nine stacks of DOEs, which isn't too bad on top of the other returns. Closer to Halloween I'll switch over to Ornate Grawl Necklaces for a couple of weeks. I'll get a stack of those for every 2-3 hours of farming time, which is much better for Halloween trading. However, the farm is done in NM and the other drops are not even worth picking up, so I give up immediate income for this, hoping to make it up on the back end by selling goodies after Halloween. |

That's what I'm thinking also, farming for Halloween. With the Pirate event I got more than enough Grog to finish Ale Hound, sweet tooth is done and I want to finish party at Halloween, I figured more farming I can get done the smaller the hit to the ole pocketbook. The reason I asked about the emblems is because I have been solo farming Tengu HM with my ele so I get scalps (1-1 trade in) feathers, lockpicks, tomes, golds etc. I was just wondering if there was a special reason I was missing on for the emblems. Anyway, thanks for the responses.

Bot farming
All they really need to do is eliminate Orr Emblems from the halloween festival this year. That would be great.

in short, I find emblem farming to be a lot faster for me. I can get 3 emblems faster than I can get one scalp. |
